Self Discovery
As a young mother of 2 and another on the way, I felt a great deal of despair when faced with my husband leaving, the loss of a job, the loss of my health insurance and a lot of uncertainty. Finding temporary work came quickly, which provided some relief, but I would come home from work each day and sit in the middle of the floor and cry -- feeling somewhat lost and sorry for myself for my predicament. My 6 year old sat down next to me one day and said, "Mommy, why do you cry every day -- it makes me so sad to see you so sad". That was the last day I sat on my floor and cried and it was exactly what I needed to hear to pick myself up and change my game. I've always been a very positive, glass half-full person and realized that the only person that could change my attitude and outlook was me. I had some amazing informal coaches within my family and friends network and within a few short months, I re-gained my confidence and my focus and started working toward my goals. With the help and encouragement of several individuals, coupled with my strong desire to achieve more I realized each day I wake up, I get to choose my attitude and how I react to every situation I am faced with. It's your life -- you get to choose.
